To produce your own hook bait glug simply add 50% Liquid Glycerine with 50% of the liquid attractors of your choice and then mix them together. Recommended inclusion levels are 6-10ml per kg base mix. When using a new flavour we always advise creating a small batch of baits and starting with the lower recommended level, you can then add more going forward until you achieve your desired aroma.
For high attract pop ups & wafters we recommend adding up to 6 ml per 1 egg mix, some flavours are stronger than others so don’t be afraid to experiment.
When adding to your own glugs & liquids we recommend adding at 2% – 5% (5ml – 12ml flavour – 250ml glug), again when using a new flavour we always advise starting with the lower recommended level, you can then add more going forward until you achieve your desired aroma.
To boost your hook baits, you can use our PVA friendly Betaine liquid, DMPT liquid or Glycerine (all found under liquid foods) to dilute your chosen flavour down. Dimethyl propiothetin (DMPT) is an algae metabolite. It is a natural sulfur-containing compound (thio betaine) and is considered the strongest attractor available. In several lab- and field tests DMPT comes out as the best feed inducing stimulant ever tested. DMPT not only improves feed intake, but also acts as a water soluble hormone-like substance. DMPT also enhances the ability to cope with stress associated with catch / transportation of fish and other aquatic animals.
