  Over the last few years, we have worked tremendously hard sourcing only the highest quality ingredients, liquids, and additives available from all over the globe. Many of our new products are now exclusive to AA Baits, which allows us to formulate and offer the very best, premium quality in-house mixes, available on the market. That being said, we do keep a handful of specially sourced products close to our chest, making our mixes stand out from the rest 😉. In order for all our customers to receive a premium mix at a very fair price, we have always supplied direct. Cutting out the middle man allows us to operate using all our finest ingredients and stimulants. This also allows our finest products to be used at optimal levels.

  This fish-meal base mix contains a large amount of high quality Norwegian (LT-94) fishmeal, milk and egg proteins, kelp meal, soya flour and CLO, this mix has been formulated to provide a balanced food source that is suitable for use in summer and winter months. Rolls easy and works very well.

  This mix requires approximately 9 eggs per Kg of dry mix.

  All our base mix’s are tried, tested and roll perfectly. We use only the highest quality ingredients available, in all optimum levels formulating an excellent food source which in turn keeps the fish coming back for more as they become familiar with the nutritional value of the bait.

  Contains : Large Amount of Norwegian LT94 Fishmeal, Salmon Fishmeal, CLO, Kelp Meal and milk & egg proteins to name just a few ingredients in this mix.

  Our mixes do arrive ready to roll, but many of our customers do add their own ingredients and additives to make it a unique formulation. Please bear in mind altering the mix may affect the rolling so some trial and error might be required depending on the products being added.

  TIP: When making your own boilies it gives you the chance to NOT boil some. This allows you to have baits that haven’t been boiled, which in turn looses some goodness. But most of all it allows these baits to break down and disperse all the soluble attractors and feed stimulants into your swim much faster. These baits would require being kept in a bucket/container to save being crushed/broken once dried. Again these baits wouldn’t be hard enough to be used in a throwing stick.

  AA Baits Original Plain Pop Up Mix

  This pop-up mix will make very buoyant hook baits which will remain buoyant in excess of 48 hours. Made with Milk and Egg Proteins thus increasing leakage, it also takes on attractors and flavours extremely well, you will find it easy to use and roll. It has a firm texture but remains soft enough to use with a bait needle without excessive force.

  Simply add 40g Fluoro dye per kg plain pop-up mix to create fluorescent hook baits. For washed out add 20g white dye and 20g fluoro dye per kg pop up mix. These are recommendations and can be altered until you achieve your desired colour. Add both pop-up mix and your chosen dyes into a large plastic bag, then close bag trapping some air inside and shake well until mixed evenly.

  For shelf life hook baits add 10-15ml of bait preserve per egg. It is important to remember the main part of the process is to dry your hook baits well prior to storing, usually a minimum of 48hrs, it can be slightly longer in the colder months due to extra moisture being in the air, the longer your hook baits are dried the less the moisture content will be helping to prevent mould growth.

  One egg will take approximately 100-120 grams of pop-up mix. You will get approximately 5 pots of pop ups per 250 grams of pop-up mix once made.

  This pop up mix needs to be boiled for 90 seconds.

  Fluoro Orange Wafter Mix

  After being asked many many times for a wafter mix we are extremely happy to offer this superb mix. Made with Milk and Egg Proteins thus increasing leakage, it also takes on attractors and flavours extremely well, you will find it easy to use and roll. It has a firm texture but remains soft enough to use with a bait needle without excessive force. This wafter mix has been made on the buoyant side allowing you to add base mix when creating matching hook baits. When being used without any other powders added to the mix a dumbell wafter (12mm size nozzle on a 15mm rolling table) will sit nicely using a size 4 hook with a ring swivel. There is always going to be a little trial and error when creating these sort of hook baits, you can alter the buoyancy of the mix by adding more powders to the wafter mix until you achieve your desired waft. Make sure you write everything down in percentages, you can then alter your percentages until you achieve your required buoyancy, also remember the buoyancy will increase slightly as the hook bait dries out, vice versa once the hook baits takes no water it will decrease the buoyancy.   This base mix is made with milk proteins and food grade ingredients this 50/50 mix is ideal for customizing your own baits allowing you to add any of your chosen ingredients (50% – 50/50 base mix,  50% your chosen ingredients) for a totally different baiting approach. It is advised to add oil when making this mix. Please read below for an example on how we recommend this basemix is to be used.
