Tips
- Remember our sweet whey powder can be used to add binding to any mix. Start by adding 5% – 50g per kg mix, you can then adjust accordingly. Adding more will increase the binding, vice versa adding less will decrease the break down time. This is to be added to the dry mix, then mixed very well before wetting.
- We recommend slowly adding water/liquid additives to any mix, be careful not to add too much water. A nice fluffy texture that still breaks down is ideal. Too much water can make a mix go hard. More water can always be added if required, but it can’t be removed.
- 1L pump spray bottle is ideal for wetting mixes, also great for mixing liquid additives with water before wetting mix.
- Once desired texture is achieved keep in an air tight bucket/container, this helps stop it from drying out.

Meat Meal 55 is a high-protein, processed animal protein ingredient produced in the UK from Category 3 animal by-products. It is manufactured exclusively from materials derived from animals passed fit for human consumption prior to processing, making it a safe, consistent and nutritionally valuable ingredient for all fishing bait and feed formulations.
This light brown, finely milled meal is produced from mixed species meat trimmings, fat, bones and offal, delivering a balanced protein and fat profile with excellent digestibility. This fantastic sweetener has a slight cream taste and is around 1500/1800 times sweeter than table sugar. This ultra strong sweetener won’t leave any bitter after taste and lingers in the mouth for some time. An important synergetic quality of NHDC is the enhancing sweet effect if it is combined with other sweeteners. This is many times higher than if you solely use NHDC or a single sweetener. This is where the real power lies! It amplifies the perception of other sweeteners and flavours and is absolutely essential in every sweet bait. Our in-house flavour enhancers are formulated using a blend of high-quality, food-grade, and feed-safe ingredients, including oleoresins, essential oils, premium liquid hydrolysates, sweeteners, NHDC sweetener, and our proprietary soluble amino acid stimulant. These formulations are designed to be highly attractive and effective.
All our flavours are based on taste rather than aroma. Flavours formulated based on aroma utilise completely different chemicals, but our focus remains on creating flavours that taste pleasant rather than just smelling strong. While personal preferences vary, this approach reflects our commitment to delivering safe effective products.
In addition, we exclusively offer flavours that are feed-safe, ensuring their suitability for inclusion in animal feeds and other applications. Our flavour house adhere’s strictly to regulatory standards, which does require removing certain chemicals from time to time, these chemicals are removed from the food & feed register for a reason. We follow the experts guidance and prioritise safety for both humans and aquatic life.
