Description

Belachan block is fermented shrimp paste, it is a salty, strong smelling block that is used to create deep flavours in Malaysian dishes… and carp find it highly attractive. The solid block can be grated down with a cheese grater and used in many applications such as pellets, particles,  base mixes, method, spod or stick mixes making a great attractor.

Our Belachan Blocks weigh 250g.

Recommend inclusion level is up 75 per kg base mix, when grated down with a cheese grater.

    Meat Meal 55

    Meat Meal 55 is a high-protein, processed animal protein ingredient produced in the UK from Category 3 animal by-products.     Potassium sorbate (E202) is present in many human food stuffs and drinks. It has also been tested as safe to use in aquatic environments. Can be used by dissolving in to your liquids/liquid egg to preserve your boilie and paste mixes. Potassium sorbate is ideal to use in boilies as it survives the boiling process – it has a melting point of 134°C and a boiling point of 228°C…well above the temperature of boiling baits.

    Recommended inclusion level is 0.1% of your liquid. (450ml liquid – 1g potassium sorbate). You can also add citric acid which will increase the preserving properties.  When using potassium sorbate we advise testing small batches to see how long your unique mix with stay preserved.

    It is also important to remember the main part of the process is to dry your baits well prior to storing, usually a minimum of 48hrs, it can be slightly longer in the colder months due to extra moisture being in the air, the longer your baits are dried the less the moisture content will be helping to prevent mould growth.
