  If you are looking for an out and out premium grade basemix, look no further. This particular basemix is based on a time-tested recipe we have been asked to supply for a couple of years. Our own unique version of this formulation incorporates a selection of our in-house made ingredients, enhancing an already exceptional recipe. By combining our Premium-grade LT-94 fishmeal with 100% soluble Actifish fishmeal, along with an additional in-house soluble fishmeal and fish additive, we’ve created an extraordinarily premium grade fishmeal basemix.

  Complemented by an extensive array of high-end ingredients and additives, this mix is designed to maximize attraction and nutritional value. Our in-house bait boost powder, formulated for both attraction and nutritional benefits, has been included to promote growth, health, long-term food signals and feeding response. We believe this will quickly become a staple in our range, one that we find ourselves producing in large quantities, struggling to meet demand same as all our other basemixes.

  Use approximately 9 eggs per kilogram of dry base mix for optimal binding. This base mix will produce dark brown/deep red boilies.

  Our base mixes are tried, tested, and consistently roll perfectly. We exclusively utilize high-quality ingredients, carefully balanced at their optimal levels to produce an excellent food source. This ensures the bait remains highly attractive and nutritionally rich, encouraging fish to return as they become familiar with its benefits.

  Tip: When creating your own boilies, consider leaving some unboiled. Unboiled baits retain more nutrients and soluble attractors, leading to faster dispersal and increased feeding activity in your swim. These baits should be stored in a bucket or container to prevent damage once dried. Keep in mind, unboiled baits will not be as hard, so they are best suited for use with a throwing stick.

  This Superseed basemix has been formulated from various seeds including Meggablend, Clo and Hemp powder alongside Milk proteins to provide a valuable food source that is suitable for year round use.

  This mix will take on any flavour and colour combination well.

  TIP: When making your own boilies it gives you the chance to NOT boil some. This allows you to have baits that haven’t been boiled, which in turn looses some goodness. But most of all it allows these baits to break down and disperse all the soluble attractors and feed stimulants into your swim much faster. These baits would require being kept in a bucket/container to save being crushed/broken once dried. Again these baits wouldn’t be hard enough to be used in a throwing stick.

  AABaits Pop-Up Mix 

  Our AABaits Pop-Up Mix has been refined to improve handling and make rolling easier, while adding slightly more structure to the core. It now matches the buoyancy of our Ultra Buoyant Pop-Up Mix.

  This mix can be used with either water or liquid egg, alongside bait preservative. When using water and bait preservative, the finished baits will still be sufficiently firm. For those who prefer a harder finish, using liquid egg with bait preservative will increase firmness slightly compared to water.

  For best results, always weigh your liquids (egg or water) and powders accurately. Pop-up mixes require precise measurements, so we recommend using scales accurate to at least 1g to ensure consistency.

  This mix produces extremely buoyant hook baits that will remain popped up for days. In our tank tests, 12mm pop-ups tied to a size 4 hook with a micro ring swivel remained buoyant for over 7 days (testing was stopped at that point).

  Made with milk and egg proteins, along with high-quality milk powders, this mix offers excellent leakage and takes on flavours and attractors extremely well. It is easy to use and roll, with a firm yet workable texture that allows use with a bait needle without excessive force.

  Note: Colour inclusion rates are a starting point and can be adjusted to suit your desired colour intensity.

  Overall Ratio:
  The standard ratio is 1.46g powder to 1g liquid. This can be adjusted slightly when incorporating additional liquids and powdered additives such as flavours, oils, liquid foods, or powdered attractors.

  As a starting point for more customised mixes, you may reduce the ratio to around 1.35g powder to 1g liquid, then fine-tune as required to achieve your preferred consistency and workability.

  This yields approximately 250g of finished pop-up baits.

  Instructions

  1. Weigh out 80g water (or liquid egg) and 20g bait preservative (100g total).
  2. Add 10ml flavour and mix thoroughly.
  3. Add your chosen powder mix (standard, coloured, fluoro, pastel, or iron oxide) and combine evenly until a fluffy texture is achieved.
  4. Apply approximately 0.5ml of your chosen oil to vinyl gloves, coating them lightly.
  5. Knead for 2–3 minutes until a smooth dough forms.
  6. Place the dough in a sealed bag and leave to rest for 15 minutes to allow full absorption.
  7. Lightly re-knead, then roll into a sausage suitable for your extruder.
  8. Load into the sausage gun and extrude a small amount to check sizing.
  9. Start with a smaller nozzle opening and gradually trim it, checking against your rolling table after each adjustment. Always test with a full-length sausage before finalising, as length can affect expansion. Take your time—over-trimming will require a new nozzle.
  10. Once correct, extrude sausages to the required length.
  11. Roll using a rolling table and transfer to a tray. Dusting with rice flour is usually unnecessary with this mix, but if sticking occurs, lightly coat the tray (base and sides), then remove any excess before use. Gently shake the tray once baits are added.
  12. Bring water to the boil, then reduce slightly (around 98°C is ideal). Although this mix does hold shape at a full boil, slightly lower temperatures are recommended.

  Boiling times:

  • 12mm: 60 seconds
  • 15mm: 90 seconds
  • 18mm: 120 seconds

  13. Remove and place on an air-drying tray. Dry for a minimum of 48 hours.

  Drying & Storage

  Proper drying is essential. Air dry for at least 48 hours before storing—longer in colder or more humid conditions. The lower the moisture content, the better the resistance to mould.

  Colouring Guide

  • Add 40g fluoro dye per kg of pop-up mix for bright hook baits.
  • For a washed-out finish: 20g white dye + 20g fluoro dye per kg.

  Add both the pop-up mix and dyes into a sealed bag with some trapped air, then shake thoroughly to ensure even distribution. Adjust levels as required to achieve your desired colour.

We have been asked over and over again for a pop-up mix that is buoyant enough for a 12mm hook bait to hold a size 4 hook up with a ring swivel, look no further this pop-up does just that. The 12mm hook baits we have experimented with have stayed popped up for 5 days, we then stopped testing. Made with Milk and Egg Proteins thus increasing leakage, it also takes on attractors and flavours extremely well, you will find it easy to use and roll. It has a firm texture but remains soft enough to use with a bait needle without excessive force.

  One egg will take approximately 80-100 grams of pop-up mix. You will get approximately 5 pots of pop ups per 250 grams of pop-up mix once made.

  Simply add 40g Fluoro dye per kg plain pop-up mix to create fluorescent hook baits. For washed out add 20g white dye and 20g fluoro dye per kg pop up mix.   HNV Tigernut base mix is made using pure tigernut products, In-house blend of nut meals, Peanut protein (soluble), balanced and nutritional proteins making this a very attractive sweet mix. Suitable all year round this is a great addition to your bait armoury.

  We recommend the inclusion of tigernut extract in the bait at levels between 30 / 50ml per kg of dry mix.

  Use approximately 8 eggs per Kg of dry mix.

  After being asked many many times for a wafter mix we are extremely happy to offer this superb mix. Made with Milk and Egg Proteins thus increasing leakage, it also takes on attractors and flavours extremely well, you will find it easy to use and roll. It has a firm texture but remains soft enough to use with a bait needle without excessive force. This wafter mix has been made on the buoyant side allowing you to add base mix when creating matching hook baits. When being used without any other powders added to the mix a dumbell wafter (12mm size nozzle on a 15mm rolling table) will sit nicely using a size 4 hook with a ring swivel. There is always going to be a little trial and error when creating these sort of hook baits, you can alter the buoyancy of the mix by adding more powders to the wafter mix until you achieve your desired waft. Make sure you write everything down in percentages, you can then alter your percentages until you achieve your required buoyancy, also remember the buoyancy will increase slightly as the hook bait dries out, vice versa once the hook baits takes no water it will decrease the buoyancy. This new wafter mix has now been made less buoyant, its does still allow you to add base mix (at a lower level) when creating matching hook baits. When being used without any other powders added to the mix a 15mm round hook bait should be roughly, the correct buoyancy and will sit nicely using a size 4 hook with a ring swivel. There is always going to be a little trial and error when creating these sort of hook baits, you can alter the buoyancy of our wafter mix by adding more powders to the mix until you achieve your desired waft.
