Blood Plasma

The options may be chosen on the product pageBlood Plasma is derived from Porcine blood with a protein content of around 80% and great amino acid profile, it has been used widely in the bait industry for years. Blood plasma gives excellent binding and hardening properties, it gels quickly and gives the finished bait a firm outer skin leaving the centre soft allowing the bait to still leak its attractors effectively. Light in colour and also aroma-free, making for a great ingredient for mixes where a neutral smell is required.
Recommend inclusion level is up to 3-5% – (30-50g) per kg base mix. For making hard hookers we recommend inclusion levels of up 10% (100g) per kg base mix.
Note: Also great for adding to pastes where more binding is required.

PEA Protein 75% (Feed Grade)

The options may be chosen on the product pageMore and more Aqua/Fishing bait companies are turning to this ingredient as a suitable and more importantly sustainable protein source to replace a lot of Fishmeal in fish feed formulations, its Amino Acid profile ensures growth rates of fish are not compromised when using this as a quality alternative source to Fishmeal, whilst the bio availability is not as high as Fishmeal, trials by the major French manufacturer have concluded no loss of growth rates in fish.
This feed grade version has a coarse texture and contains 75% protein.
Recommended inclusion level is 250g per kg base mix.

Egg Albumen (Food Grade)

The options may be chosen on the product pageEgg Albumen also known as egg white powder will give baits a firm skinned finish (allowing boiling times to be lowered) without making the bait rock hard right through. Egg albumen has a protein content of 78% plus and adds to the digestibility and nutritional profile of finished baits.
Egg Albumen may be used with Whey Gel at an inclusion of 5% each to produce a base mix that requires no liquid egg. This enables you to add either water or liquid (non oil based) attractors to your base mix to produce a far more soluble finished bait. Add Egg Albumen at 5% and also Whey Gel at 5% to eliminate the requirement for liquid egg.

Krill Meal (Qrill PET) Premium

The options may be chosen on the product pageWe have managed to source this outstanding krill meal (QRILL Pet) which has a stronger more pungent aroma and a darker deeper orange colour compared to the krill Aqua, with a minimum protein content of 60%, plus a higher essential amino acid and Omega 3 content making this the highest quality krill meal available (you won’t find better anywhere). The texture that is obtained from including Krill meal in to baits aids higher leakage of attractors in to the water. This is a heavier material (not had as much oil extracted) but we still advise to take consideration in to the amount used in bottom baits, due to the light nature of this product it will still add buoyancy to baits.

Whey Protein Concentrate 35% is a very high quality whey protein produce from skimmed milk and as its name suggest has a protein content in excess of 35% and provides a good amino acid profile that will improve any bait, this product has excellent binding qualities, aids rolling and works as a functional bait hardener.
Recommend inclusion level is up to 20% – (200g) per kg base mix. Inclusion rate’s of around 7.5 – 10% in a Fishmeal based bait is sufficient, higher levels can be used in a Milk/Birdfood/Nut type mixes around 10 – 20%.

50/50 Base Mix
Over the last few years, we have worked tremendously hard sourcing only the highest quality ingredients, liquids, and additives available from all over the globe. Many of our new products are now exclusive to AA Baits, which allows us to formulate and offer the very best, premium quality in-house mixes, available on the market. That being said, we do keep a handful of specially sourced products close to our chest, making our mixes stand out from the rest 😉. In order for all our customers to receive a premium mix at a very fair price, we have always supplied direct. Cutting out the middle man allows us to operate using all our finest ingredients and stimulants. This also allows our finest products to be used at optimal levels.
This base mix is made with milk proteins and food grade ingredients this 50/50 mix is ideal for customizing your own baits allowing you to add any of your chosen ingredients (50% – 50/50 base mix, 50% your chosen ingredients) for a totally different baiting approach. It is advised to add oil when making this mix. Please read below for an example on how we recommend this basemix is to be used.
Use approximately 9 eggs per Kg of dry base mix.
All our base mix’s are tried, tested and roll perfectly. We use only the highest quality ingredients available.
Contains: Semolina, Full Fat (Trusoy) Soya Flour, Milk Powders and Maize Flour to name just a few ingredients in the mix.
Our mixes do arrive ready to roll, but many of our customers do add their own ingredients and additives to make it a unique formulation. Please bear in mind altering the mix may affect the rolling so some trial and error might be required depending on the products being added.

TIP: When making your own boilies it gives you the chance to NOT boil some. This allows you to have baits that haven’t been boiled, which in turn looses some goodness. But most of all it allows these baits to break down and disperse all the soluble attractors and feed stimulants into your swim much faster. These baits would require being kept in a bucket/container to save being crushed/broken once dried. Again these baits wouldn’t be hard enough to be used in a throwing stick.
