Recommended Inclusion Rates
For boilie base mixes, we recommend using 5–10ml per kg of base mix. If you’re using this flavour for the first time, make a small test batch and begin at the lower inclusion rate before increasing to suit your preferred flavour intensity.
For high-attract pop-ups and wafters, use up to 5ml per 1 egg mix. As every bait recipe is different, don’t hesitate to experiment until you achieve the perfect balance of flavour and attraction.

Our Blueberry Flavour Concentrate is ideal for making your own carp glugs, bait soaks and liquid attractors.
We recommend an inclusion rate of 2–5% (5–12ml per 250ml of liquid). Start at the lower rate and increase gradually until you achieve the desired aroma and flavour profile.
Hook Bait Booster Guide
For boosted hook baits, dilute the Blueberry Flavour Concentrate with our PVA Friendly Betaine Liquid, DMPT Liquid, or Glycerine (available in our Liquid Foods range).
A recommended starting point is 5% flavour (12ml per 250ml of booster liquid). This can be increased to create a stronger attractor if required. You can also combine the flavour with liquid foods, amino blends and other attractants to produce your own customised hook bait booster.

Pear Drops Concentrate

Recommended inclusion levels are 4-8ml per kg base mix. When using a new flavour we always advise creating a small batch of baits and starting with the lower recommended level, you can then add more going forward until you achieve your desired aroma.
For high attract pop ups & wafters we recommend adding up to 4 ml per 1 egg mix, some flavours are stronger than others so don’t be afraid to experiment.
When adding to your own glugs & liquids we recommend adding at 2% – 5% (5ml – 12ml flavour – 250ml glug), again when using a new flavour we always advise starting with the lower recommended level, you can then add more going forward until you achieve your desired aroma.
To boost your hook baits, you can use our PVA friendly Betaine liquid, DMPT liquid or Glycerine (all found under liquid foods) to dilute your chosen flavour down. Some anglers like to boost their hook baits with neat flavour whilst some like to dilute the strength down. We recommend adding the flavour at 5% (12ml flavour – 250ml booster liquid). This % can always be increased until you achieve your chosen strength. You can also add a wide variety of liquid foods etc adding more attraction to your unique booster.
All our concentrated flavours are of the highest grade/quality available on the market. As with all concentrated flavours and liquids, use in a well ventilated area and always wear safety glasses.
This is a PG based flavour which has been created with nature identical flavourings and has been carefully created to give flavour as well as the aroma (smell), some flavours out there are mainly based on aroma chemicals (smell), with the flavour not given much thought.

Tips
- Remember our sweet whey powder can be used to add binding to any mix. Start by adding 5% – 50g per kg mix, you can then adjust accordingly. Adding more will increase the binding, vice versa adding less will decrease the break down time. This is to be added to the dry mix, then mixed very well before wetting.
- We recommend slowly adding water/liquid additives to any mix, be careful not to add too much water. A nice fluffy texture that still breaks down is ideal. Too much water can make a mix go hard. More water can always be added if required, but it can’t be removed.
- 1L pump spray bottle is ideal for wetting mixes, also great for mixing liquid additives with water before wetting mix.
- Once desired texture is achieved keep in an air tight bucket/container, this helps stop it from drying out.

Whole Egg Powder (Premium 60%)

The options may be chosen on the product pageOur Premium Whole Egg Powder is a fantastic binding agent and can be used as a direct replacement for liquid egg. Whole egg powder will firm baits throughout whereas egg albumen will tend to create a tougher skin whilst leaving the centre moist. You can create your liquid egg by mixing it with water, start of mixing 180/230g (18%/23%) of whole egg powder to make 1 litre of liquid egg, remember you can higher the inclusion level which will increase the binding potential of the liquid.
Premium Whole Egg Powder (60%) Contains 60% egg albumen. More % of egg albumen gives much more binding allowing less to be used. Also has a higher protein content and lower fat content, creating a fantastic egg powder.
Due to the high amount of egg albumen in this egg powder you can lower your boiling times by half, this will create a nice rubbery outer skin leaving the centre soft. Vice versa if you require tougher boilies for throwing sticks simply boil for your normal boiling times which will toughen the boilie throughout.
To get the best results when mixing with water, mix thoroughly with a paddle mixer using a drill then leave for at least 2 hours before using.
Start by adding 200g 60% whole egg powder into a large measuring jug, then fill with water to the 1L mark and mix very, very well. It is best to leave for at least 2 hours before using. The % of 60% whole egg powder can be altered going forward if needed, until you achieve your desired binding.
Recommend boiling times with 60% whole egg powder.

18mm – 80 seconds
These times can again be altered until you achieve your desired texture.

5 Times the Bitterness – Why Is This Important?
One of the most interesting findings from our comparative testing is the significant difference in bitterness levels between the two yeast products.

But why is this important?
During traditional brewing, hops contribute naturally occurring bitter compounds, including humulone (alpha acid), lupulone (beta acid) and related substances.
The bitterness level of brewery-derived yeast can be influenced by both the quantity and characteristics of the hops used during brewing, including their bittering intensity, as well as the brewing process itself.
Different hop varieties contain different concentrations of bittering compounds, and the amount of hops used can have a significant influence on the resulting bitterness.
In other words, the significantly higher bitterness of BetaCel Yeast® is consistent with its origins in a hop-rich brewing process, where the quality, character and quantity of the hops contribute to the finished ingredient.
This is particularly interesting because hop-derived bitter compounds are recognised for their antioxidant and bacteriostatic properties.
The higher bitterness reading suggests greater bittering activity in BetaCel Yeast®, potentially reflecting a greater contribution from these valuable brewing compounds.
While bitterness alone cannot confirm the exact quantity of humulone and lupulone, or prove that one beer is of higher quality than another, the fivefold difference is a clear and measurable distinction between the two yeast powders.
For bait makers, this adds another interesting characteristic to an already impressive ingredient, complementing its naturally occurring MOS, beta-glucans, nucleotides, amino acids, vitamins and minerals.

Genuine Brewery-Derived Yeast – Why the Source Matters
Not all yeast powders are produced in the same way, and we believe the origin of a yeast ingredient is just as important as its nutritional specification.
BetaCel Yeast® is sourced from genuine traditional brewing, using malted barley and hops, rather than simply being yeast grown on an alternative fermentation substrate.
During the brewing process, the yeast comes into contact with naturally occurring compounds from both the malted barley and hops, contributing to its distinctive composition.
This can include valuable hop-derived bitter compounds alongside the nutritional components naturally present in the yeast itself.
Some yeast powders are produced using alternative fermentation substrates and different manufacturing processes. These can still be useful ingredients, but their composition may differ significantly from genuine brewery-derived yeast.
For this reason, we believe it is important to understand not just the protein content of a yeast powder, but also where it comes from, how it is produced and what naturally occurring compounds it contains.
Why Bitterness and Gluten Are Interesting Indicators
Two particularly interesting characteristics when assessing brewery-derived yeast are its measured bitterness and the presence of gluten.
Traditional brewing commonly uses malted barley, which naturally contains gluten-related proteins, while hops contribute characteristic bitter compounds.
When both are detected in a brewers’ yeast powder, they can provide useful supporting evidence of its brewing origin.
However, neither measurement alone proves how a yeast has been produced, which is why manufacturer traceability and confirmation of the production process are equally important.
In the case of BetaCel Yeast®, we have confirmation that the product originates from traditional brewing using malted barley and hops.
